Operation Caregiver Knitting for the Troops

free knitting patterns, knitted caps, letters of encouragement, fiber requirements, knitters, cash donations, charitable organization, american troops, soldier

Operation Caregiver seeks to provide comfort and hygiene to American troops deployed overseas through donations of knitted caps. These caps are not worn under helmets; but for those days when a soldier is off duty. Although, there are no fiber requirements, Operation Caregiver does recommend that you knit or crochet with Wool-Ease in Mushroom, Wood Print, or Sage. You may also use Homespun in Barley, Harvest, or Edwardian. Knitters should use the pattern supplied on the Operation Caregiver website. This charitable organization all accepts cash donations in ANY amount, and letters of encouragement with each donation. Most of the time, the letters are more important than the donated item as they lift the spirits of the recipients.
